HEALTHY HOLIDAY TURKEY

We all know your mouth is watering for a delicious home-cooked meal this holiday season. We’re offering this handy recipe to help you ensure that you’re getting the most out of your Thanksgiving turkey feast! 

  • Prep Time: 30 minutes
  • Ingredients: 1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter, 1 lemon, 1 teaspoon chopped thyme leaves, 1 turkey (10 to 12 pounds), Kosher salt, ground black pepper, 1 large bunch fresh thyme, 1 whole lemon, halved, 1 Spanish onion, quartered, 1 head garlic, halved crosswise.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Remove giblets and thoroughly clean the turkey before placing it in a pan. 
  • Salt and pepper the inside of the turkey cavity. 
  • Stuff the cavity with thyme, lemon, onion, and garlic.
  • Using a brush, dab the outside of the turkey with butter mixture and make sure to sprinkle with your salt and pepper.
  • Carefully tie the legs together with a string and tuck the wingtips.
  • Roast your turkey for about 2 ½ hours. 
  • When ready, remove the turkey and place it on a cutting board, and cover it with foil. Let the turkey rest for about 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
