TRIPLE-BERRY SMOOTHIE

Since you’ll need your energy to take on this brand new year, we’re providing the recipe for a healthy, energy-boosting triple-berry smoothie. Mixed with almond milk, Greek yogurt, and blended fruit, this smoothie will give you all the pep you need to tackle the day with ease. 

This smoothie ideally yields two servings and takes only five minutes of prep time once you have all your required ingredients. A nice and simple start to what should hopefully be a nice and simple year. Ready? Let’s get started! 

Start by selecting your fruit. This is based on personal preference but we recommend:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup of frozen blackberries
  • 1 cup of frozen raspberries

And any other assorted fruits or berries you have a fondness for. Remember, this is your smoothie so tailor it to the kinds of fruit you like best! For your frozen fruits, make sure to freeze your fresh fruit for at least 30 minutes before blending, or add 1 cup of ice and blend from there.

Next, you’ll need a thickener for your smoothie. Use ½ cups of unsweetened Greek yogurt. Thickeners of peanut butter, almond butter, or vanilla yogurt would also work as well if you prefer one over the other. If you’re aiming for a thinner smoothie, aim for a smaller amount of thickener.

Next, select a liquid. For a rich, nutty flavor, use almond milk. For this, you’ll need 1 ¼ cups of almond milk. Remember that you’ll need to use less liquid in the event that you’ve chosen to make a thinner smoothie. 

Then, for extra nutrition, throw in some extra flavors! This is completely optional but will add some much-needed extra taste and nourishment to your smoothie. We recommend:

  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Mint
  • Vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
  • Honey
  • Flax seeds for omega-3s

Once you have all your ingredients in place, take a blender, and combine everything together. Blend until smooth. 

Once blending is complete, pour out into cups. Congratulations! You have a delicious, nutritious triple berry smoothie! For extra deliciousness, you can divide your smoothie into 2 cups and top each cup with blackberries. Enjoy the day ahead with a refreshing beverage that’s sure to keep you up and about!
